I don’t like to drive. I don’t know why…when I was younger I used to love it but I think basically it’s because of two reasons:
1) I have other people that I care for deeply in the car with me and all I can think of is if I get in an accident it’s my fault that they are hurt. (Sorry Justin…I did care about you too when we were younger…but this is a bit different. 🙂 )
and 2) The person who passed me on my drivers test told me that I should never drive in a city by myself till I have more experience. Yes, I grew up on a small island….but those comments still make me nervous now when I drive here.
So…that being said Little E and I had a date day on Saturday while hubby was busy doing other stuff. We decided to be brave and go down to the Walmart downtown instead of the one closest to us. On our way there I decided to try to take the rotary. Let me explain…the rotary is fairly new..within the last year or two..and I have NEVER driven on it by myself.
So the first time we went around and I just kept going cause I had no idea where to turn off. We turned around and went back. All the while I’m talking to Little E about what I’m doing…saying such things as “ok I think mommy figured it out”…so around we went again…and again I missed the turn.
From the back this is what I hear:
“Mommy you weren’t paying attention. You were supposed to go right and then turn left. Daddy would know how to do it”.
Yes….yes…that’s coming from my 3 year old.
And you know what…I think he was right. 🙂
